BC Curriculum
The BC curriculum is a guide for the education community, (administrators, teachers, parents, and students,) that outlines the educational expectations for each grade and subject . This website includes educational resources, policies, Indigenous knowledge, and areas of assessment for grades K-12 . Teachers use this website as a guide to ensure that their students are not only learning the content for each grade, but grasping the context and ‘big ideas’ of each topic. Beyond academics, this website also includes the communicational, thinking, and personal/social skills that students have the opportunity to acquire in and beyond the classroom. The overall ‘big idea’ of the BC curriculum is encouraging students to appreciate and be introduced to diverse perspectives, while also being able to think critically in order to develop their own educated opinions and perspectives on various subjects.
